The art of THOMADRO, (neé Thomas Madro) is unconventional, unexpected, creative, full of surprises and beauty. His most recent creation, art that glows in the dark, is unique. Mixing materials developed by NASA for power-free signage on space vehicles, with an artists array of pigments, THOMADRO developed a new art form that is painted in 3-dimensions in multiple layers. Under light, the paintings reflect his unconventional expressionistic images and as daylight fades, his art continues to glow and change color and even shape. He earned a BA in Fine Arts from San Diego State University in 1974. In that year, Thomadro had his first one-man show of which noted art critic Richard Reilly wrote: “skill, imagination, competence, professionalism, and style …Madro has talent.”
